About Melíanthos
Melíanthos comes from the Greek words méli (honey) and anthós (flower). It’s an award-winning boutique, one-man micro-bakery run by a Greek living in Manchester— that’s me!
Originally from Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-largest city, I’ve been lucky to spend most of my Christmas, Easter, and summer holidays in my mountain village, just 15 minutes from the Corinthian Gulf.
This exposure to delicious food made with fresh, natural ingredients and recipes passed down through generations shaped my palate. Whether the food came from my mother, grandmother, or aunts, I was always grateful. Thanks to them, I developed a great taste and learned to appreciate handmade meals.
Growing up, I cultivated a passion for technology, dedicating 20 years to building digital products and IT companies. As time went on, I found myself spending more time in the kitchen, cooking and baking treats to share with family and friends. Their encouragement pushed me to delve deeper, absorbing as much knowledge as possible and experimenting until I could surprise and delight everyone who tasted my creations.
With Melianthos, my aim is to offer you not only great-tasting food but a memorable experience rooted in my Greek heritage, where high-quality ingredients come together with both traditional and modern techniques.
Since 2022, Melianthos has proudly earned eight Great Taste Awards and the prestigious Great Taste Producer badge. These awards aren’t just validations; they’re milestones in a flavourful journey that I’m excited to share with you.
